Robert
Hi I am Robert, kind of the founder of gothicpoet. My friends call me Rob or Robert B not Bob. I am the stamp collector although the others in gothicpoet play a big part in this. I am a fan of horror not blood and guts. The overboard romanticism of vampires does not agree with me vampires are ok. I like werewolves better but they get a bad rap. It is that hole hiking a leg to pee on a tree I think. I write short stories, poetry and books although no one can read them until Chris and others take them over. I like stone and steel tombstones, mausoleums, cathedrals, statues, bridges..... Halloween is it. I do yard haunts, not at my house. I live in the middle of nowhere but I decorate my friends house I even have a hearse for a prop I have a tattoo and piercing which I can cover up and take out this is not a compromise just a way not to force an opinion on others in my over full time job.

I do most of the First Day Cover cachet design. Some of the early stuff was rough. The ones from this year are all original art works. We are not professionals, well not all of us anyway. The writing is a group effort as you will see if you explore that area of the website. Rob had to be pushed into his writing kicking and screaming. I believe it was worth it. He has an extensive body of work now. He lost his way in his writing for several years but I hope he will find his way back just as he has to First Day Covers. I suppose that I am the fulcrum of the group. The 'tie that binds' as one would say. In these bios you will find the connections that create this group. We are not a business venture we are so much more.
Rob and I started dating when I was 16 and married when I was 21. I dropped out of college after 2 years with the intention of going out on the road in a semi. We never made it. After being married for 5 years we divorced sadly enough. Barry and I married soon after, that is too long a story for these pages but to say we have been married for 18 years now. We have all remained close and Rob visits with us and we stay with him. We are all one family joined by our past, our pains, our joys and our hopes. We support and care for one another. When, at the end of the day, the sun sets none of us are ever alone in the dark.

Barry
Born in 1951 at Camp Stoneman CA., as an army brat we moved extensively in the West and ended up in Minden LA. I attended High School in Minden graduating in 1969. I received a Bachelors of Science in Wildlife Conservation and Management from Louisiana Tech University and a Masters of Science in Wildlife Science from Utah State University. Soon after receiving my Masters Degree I started a 30+ year career with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in 1978. I married Chris in 1991 and have lived in Hardy, AR since 1995.
